![]() During boot I see the Vmware tools status change from "Not running (3rd-party/Independent)" to Running Scripts. All the VM guests can then communicate with one another but pull IP addresses from the VMware virtual DHCP server (enabled for a new VMnet by default). The same would apply in a scenario with physical servers, you would see the speed that your server is connected to the physical switch. ![]() ![]() I cannot tell if it is a Windows networking issue, or a VMware issue. If I do not define them then the NIC has no issue connecting automatically with or without the switch to do so. Bridged network connection connects a virtual machine to a network by using the network adapter on the host system. ![]()
